  • Overview

    The HR and Payroll Administrator will manage biweekly, multistate payroll and a variety of benefits programs (medical, dental, disability, COBRA) for all Rudy’s employees. This person will also be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and administration of leaves of absences (e.g., FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation). Other duties include maintaining personnel records, HR documents (e.g., employment records and onboarding guides), and updating internal databases.

    Responsibilities

    • Accurately and promptly process biweekly payroll; track and determine regular, commission, overtime and bonus pay; review and process vacation, sick and other leave.
    • Promptly record changes affecting employee payroll files
    • Administer Family Medical Leave (FMLA) and other state/local leave programs; distribute forms, advise managers of employee eligibility, monitor consistent re-certification process and maintain appropriate tracking of employee use of FMLA hours.
    • Administer workers’ compensation claims process; assist injured or ill employees through workers’ compensation and light duty process to ensure compliance.
    • Maintain and update benefits plans, including premium allocations in the payroll system.
    • Initiate COBRA notification to third-party vendor; monitor that notifications are made within time limits and according to federal regulations; receive and record COBRA insurance premium payments.
    • Maintain employee files, including integration of new hire information and update appropriate databases.
    • Research and resolve all employee inquiries in a timely manner.
    • Other project support as required by the department’s strategic aims.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, accounting, administration or related field
    • Two years of work experience relevant to the position
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize actions and problem-solve
    • Capacity to work with a wide variety of personalities
    • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
